Marta Ricarte Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Originally from Brazil, Marta Ricarte has called the United States home for the past 25 years. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lynn University.

Marta’s approach to psychotherapy is rooted in compassion, respect, and a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. She works with adults, adolescents, children, and families, including individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. Her clinical areas of interest include trauma, substance misuse, depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and life transitions.

Using an integrative and multicultural approach, Marta recognizes that every person brings a unique combination of experiences, culture, values, relationships, and perspectives into therapy. She tailors the therapeutic process to each client’s individual needs, goals, and circumstances rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Marta has a particular interest in psychobiology and the connection between the mind and body, as well as logotherapy, a meaning-centered approach that helps individuals explore purpose, resilience, and meaning during challenging periods of life.

As a native Portuguese speaker with a multicultural background, Marta is also able to provide therapy in Portuguese, helping Portuguese-speaking clients express themselves comfortably and authentically in the language that feels most natural to them.

Outside of her clinical work, Marta values spirituality, nature, nutrition, meaningful relationships, and lifelong learning. These interests continue to shape her appreciation for the many factors that contribute to emotional well-being and personal growth.
