Karina Cuentro Chernacov (Lapa), LMHC, M.S.
I was born and raised in Brazil, and have lived in South Florida for the past 18 years, working in public and in private settings.
I received my bachelor’s of science in clinical psychology in Brazil, and my Master’s Degree of Science at Nova Southeastern University, in Florida. I specialized in clinical psychology, and I have particular interest in treating individuals, couples, children and families who have difficulty managing conflict, as well as trauma survivors.
I have expertise in working with sexually abused, rape and incest survivors for several years, as well as with victims of violent crimes. However, I am also qualified and enjoy helping clients who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, sexual identity, infertility issues, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, conflict resolution and divorce prevention, to name a few.
I am also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family and Business Mediator, and have accumulated
experience in helping families and businesses resolve difficult conflicts and impasses.
Helping individuals, couples and families is my passion, and I do believe in the powerful relationship between client and therapist; one which promotes growth, insight, and ultimately freedom.
Give me a call and I will do my best to help and assist you and your family.
